The AGJ branch believes that EDUCATION is the GATEWAY to economic security.
As a Branch, we
- Present scholarships to local middle school, high school and Fulton-Montgomery Community College students
- Contribute to community causes
- Encourage girls to participate in math, science, and technology conferences
- Provide programs for girls
- Disseminate information on National, State, and local issues in a monthly newsletter
- Support the AAUW Education Opportunity Fund
- Support the AAUW Legal Advocacy Fund
- Collaborate to sponsor a bi-annual women’s symposium
- Are a part of the Elizabeth Cady Stanton Consortium
As Members, we participate in a variety of events:
- Monthly meetings
- Holiday events
- Annual meeting and installation of officers
- Biennial auction to benefit Education Foundation and our local scholarships
- End of year picnic
- Interaction with sister organizations
- Community Outreach programs
- Support of libraries to encourage lifelong learning
- Membership recruitment events
- Local AAUW District 4 Conference
- NY State AAUW Convention
- AAUW Biennial National Convention
